Trailer 3

Not yet released Extended Look dated 27 August 2026

OUR READ

Not a trailer. A Netflix premiere.

Rockstar’s last two major releases dropped a third trailer roughly five months before launch. Applied to GTA VI’s 19 November 2026 launch, that pattern pointed to late May through mid-July, and the window passed without one. What Rockstar scheduled instead, on its own Newswire, is Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look — premiering 27 August 2026 on Netflix at 3pm ET, then arriving free on the Rockstar Games YouTube channel and rockstargames.com six hours later at 9pm ET. Rockstar has not called it Trailer 3 and has not used trailer numbering, so we are not applying that label on its behalf. The more interesting move is the distribution: a GTA reveal has never premiered behind another company’s subscription before, and a six-hour head start on a platform that does not need the traffic reads as a distribution experiment rather than a marketing necessity. The cadence pattern is finished as a forecasting tool; the record of what it did — and did not — predict sits in the Editorial Desk dispatch. When the Extended Look airs on 27 August, this page transforms — the same template as Trailer 1 and Trailer 2, with our read on what Rockstar actually showed.

DISPATCH · UPDATED 13 AUGUST 2026

The 21 May trailer that wasn’t, and the cadence that stopped holding.

The dated GTA V + RDR2 timing record, the failed-leak post-mortem it sits alongside, and Rockstar’s own Newswire dating of An Extended Look for 27 August. Rockstar has not called it Trailer 3.
